The Rebels of Estelí
In 1998, Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel launched Drew Estate from a cramped New York City loft with a radical idea: cigars didn't have to be stuffy. They could be creative. They could be bold. They could break every rule the old guard held sacred.
They moved operations to Estelí, Nicaragua, building what they call "Subculture Studios" — a factory that feels more like an artist's workshop than a production line. The ACID line exploded onto the scene, making infused cigars cool for a generation that had never considered picking up a cigar. Then Liga Privada arrived, and suddenly Drew Estate was winning over the traditionalists too.
Acquired by Swisher International in 2014, Jonathan Drew stayed on to keep the brand's rebellious spirit alive. From infused to ultra-premium, Drew Estate continues to push boundaries and challenge what a cigar can be.
